They can’t tell you what’s wrong. That doesn’t mean they can’t tell you.
Children don’t sit down and explain themselves. They show you, in the way they play, the way they sleep, the way they hold on at the door.
What you might be seeing
- big feelings in a small body
- a child who’s gone quiet
- something they went through that you can’t undo
How we work
Play is not a warm-up for the real therapy. Play is the therapy.
Children process the same way adults do, but they don’t have the words for it yet, so they use what they have. In the room, that means toys, sand, drawing, and stories. What looks like play from the doorway is a child working something out at a pace they can survive.
The goal isn’t a quieter child. It’s a child who has somewhere to put it.
Children don’t heal in isolation from the people they live with, so I work with you too. Sometimes that’s ten minutes at the end. Sometimes it’s a session that’s just for the grown-ups. You’ll always know what we’re working on and what to do at home.
The first few sessions are for them to feel safe with me. Nothing is forced, and nothing is asked of them before they’re ready.
In person at Trolley Corner. Play therapy works best in a room, and I’ll say so honestly rather than sell you a screen.
What looks like play is a child doing the work.
Yes. Play therapy is a clinical approach with real evidence behind it, not a way of keeping your child busy. I’ll tell you what I’m seeing and what it means, and you’ll know what we’re working on.

Fifteen minutes on the phone. You ask whatever you need to. Sessions are 53 minutes and $150, and I’m glad to talk through fees and insurance before anything is booked.
Parents often find they want somewhere to put all this too. If that’s you, therapy for adults is here.
